Christina Aguilera: 'I feel revived and renewed'

Going by the reaction alone, you're forgiven if you thought Christina Aguilera was the only star of "The Voice" to make an appearance this weekend.

The singer/actress turned several heads at NBC's press conference at the TCAs on Saturday, an event she attended along with her co-stars/co-coaches Cee Lo Green and Adam Levine.

Aguilera's physique seems to be under constant scrutiny - Levine has defended her from body critics in the past - and Saturday's outing was no different. The 32-year-old mom made headlines in a flirty and fitted short pink dress that showed off her figure.

"I cannot live in front of the camera 24 hours a day," Aguilera told press Saturday. "I have to take breaks and stay connected with myself, I think that's important so that you can be your best on camera. I'm a mom, when the cameras go off I put on sweats and a T-shirt and I'm mom. ... I've been on a really incredible journey the past six months, I feel revived and renewed."

Both Aguilera and Green will be back on the singing competition when it returns September 23 following their brief hiatus. While those two coaches sat out season 4, Shakira and Usher filled in their spots.

"Thank God for Shakira," Aguilera said Saturday. "She did a beautiful job." For Green, watching Usher in his seat was "awkward and intriguing at the same time," he said.

But with so much attention on the coaches, where does that leave the contestants? Out of "The Voice's" four seasons, the show has yet to produce a star on the level of some of "American Idol's" biggest players, like Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood.

Yet Levine and host Carson Daly agreed Saturday that creating a big star isn't really "the overall mission" of "The Voice."

"A lot of things have to happen in order for that to take place. The goal of the show is to do what we can do with these amazing singers while they're on the show to get somebody into the front to win the show," Levine said. "We all know that the lightning in a bottle that you have to capture in order to be successful in the business is extremely difficult."
